 Liferafts and accessories

A self-inflating liferaft is an essential piece of safety equipment on any yacht venturing offshore. Inflated by compressed gas in a matter of seconds, triggered by immersion in water, it has ballast pockets for stability and a canopy for protection. In the event of a yacht sinking, it gives the crew shelter for survival while awaiting rescue.

Seeing as most of us have never had needed to deploy a liferaft in an emergency situation, actually seeing what happens would probably help us in a crisis.
How well do you know your liferaft?
Most of us would not skip getting our car brakes serviced and yet this last resort in a disaster at sea has a question hanging over it.
