'EXCELLENT, BEST PIECE OF BOAT EQUIPMENT I HAVE EVER BOUGHT'
Strengths:
The idea of a chartplotter is superb cause you can see where you are all the time and when visability is down and you overlay the radar, you not only get an understanding of where you are, but also whats around you. You can also look at where your going and have a better understanding if its your first time in. The clarity of the info is just superb, with FREE updates from the Raymarine web page.
Weaknesses:
Lots of pages, a need to be logical in thought pattern.
Don't forget you'll still need paper charts and to be looking & listening out at all times.
Overall:
Whether beating for a mark or picking the best possible line to get to your destination ASAP, the C80 gives you all the info you need, mine is placed on the binnacle and offers great continous info, Speed. VMG, COG, XTE, Tidal hieghts & graphs, you name it Raymarine have done it with this piece of kit.
