'EVERYTHING A DASH-MOUNT GPS IS'

Overall:
We used the SporTrak Pro on our trip, but new and more powerful is Magellan's eXplorist 500. It does everything a dash-mount GPS can do (except track water depth), but you can move it from car to boat to pocket for a hike. Internal memory is just 6 MB, but an SD card memory slot lets you download practically any map, marine or highway.
