'Probably the best option for single handed mast climbing'
Strengths: Reasonably quick to set up, and once properly set up it does the job. It is fully practical to climb the mast single handed. The harness seems to hold you little more securely than a conventional bosun's chair. Packs into a compact storage case that doubles as a tool bag. You can stand up in the foot loops to get that last extra bit of height (eg if working on a mast head antenna).
Weaknesses: Ascent and descent of mast slow and painstaking - you move each slider one at a time but I could only get about 20cm each time. You need to work hard to minimise stretch in the lines you are climbing, or else you sway around unacceptably. For this reason I ended up buying a new length of Dyneema to use as the climbing line - a further £50.
Overall: This was the right product for me. It saves borrowing a strong individual to winch me up in a bosuns chair, and anyway the winches on my 25' boat are really too small for that. But it is slow to go up and down, and nothing will miraculously convert going up the mast into a pleasant experience for most of us.
