| 'Shows all needed GPS Data on deck, works with any NMEA GPS' | | Strengths: Simple to instal (no big holes to cut), works with any NMEA GPS, very viewable, large clear display, shows all required GBS plotter or GPS receiver data remotely from GPS/GPS Plotter. Particularly useful for sailing in confined waters or very rough weather as the data the helmsman needs is visible at all times. The things one needs to know like bearing to waypoint, distance to waypoint, course made good, speed made good are there at a glance. The display is waterproof (3 seasons on deck) and robust, even when kicked by heavy seaboots! It is enexpensive and (unless one navigates from on deck) every boat should have one! | | Weaknesses: None that I have found! | | Overall: A real must for any boat, it takes away all the, "can you have a quick look at the GPS/Plotter and tell me what the bearing is to the wapoint" conversations. When racing sighted next to the log one can immediately see the effect of tides. The rolling roa/ cross track erropr being particularly useful to ensure an exact rhumb line is sailed in "round the cans" racing. |
