'VERY GOOD'
Strengths:
Its compact size and able to use on 12v
Weaknesses:
The water resevoir is small and needs to be emptied at least every two days. In very cold weather tends to frost up.
Overall:
Seems to extract water at normal temperatures. When it getsclose to freezing tends to frost mup (What else do you expect)

'At £59.99 just the job for a mould free cabin'
Strengths:
It's small but perfectly formed. Running from 240v has cost less than 90pence a week and with the small tank removed, the switch overridden and placed where it can drain constantly will keep a 12ft x 7ft x full head hieght cabin dry even at low temperatures.
Weaknesses:
Unless you have an infinite 12v supply it really needs 240v shore power to run constantly, as it draws about 3amps on 12v. At low temperatures and running constantly the water will build up an ice block on the Peltier module and outside of the casing, if a time switch was added to switch it of every so often this might not happen
Overall:
I was a bit sceptical when I put the dehumidifier in, the boat still in the water and prospects of freezing fog, but after not being able to visit the boat for 3 weeks, the cabin and bedding were perfectly dry. I have put an additional tube heater (240v) in the cabin to see if that aleviates the "ice cube" problem, but as the average temperature was only 4-5 degrees I'm not suprised about the ice buildup.
An excellent piece of kit that is small but totally effective, cheap to run and versatile running off 12v or 240v systems
