More about Petzl
Average Rating: 3 out of 5
No. of Reviews: 3
Weight: 64 g (including batteries)
RRP: £29
Year: 2005

Description: The Zipka is the little sister of the Tikka. A retractable dyneema cord replaces the elasticated headband, making it even more compact and lightweight than the Tikka. The Zipka can be carried on the head, the wrist, the ankle: ideal for keeping permanently in the bottom of the rucksack, in the glove compartment, or in your pockets to avoid ever being caught out by darkness. Operates with 3 AAA / LR03 1.5V batteries, supplied with the product. Contacts in stainless steel.

'GREAT LITTLE TORCH'
Strengths:
Small and easy to carry. Very light weight. Good bright light. Great battery survival rate as uses LED's.
Weaknesses:
The retractable strap can cut into the head after a while.
Overall:
A superb little device/torch. Would recommend to anyone, especially as you can get interchangable red lenses for use when sailing at night - saves the night vision somewhat.

'DOESN’T DRAIN THE BATTERIES'
Strengths:
The LED's give you a good strong light, but don't drain the battries.
Weaknesses:
Can get cheaper - not such good quality though. Didn't come with the head band though.
Overall:
Head torches are so useful. I can see why miners used to use them. This one I found particularly good as it is bright and doesn’t drain the batteries.
