A brand new marina is to be opened in Catalonia, Spain, 93 miles from Barcelona, by MDL. The marina operator's first venture outside the UK, Sant Carles Marina is due to open in spring 2008 and MDL claims it will be one of the finest marinas in Spain.
MDL released the Sant Carles berthing plan during the Southampton Boat Show and report a lot of interest. The company is offering a four-year berthing package “to make the ultimate Mediterranean experience is as easy as possible.”
It could include boat transportation by ship or road, guaranteed berthing prices d at a set rate for four years, as well as arrangements for low cost flights to Barcelona and transfers to the marina. MDL will also guarantee a return berth when owners return to the UK.
MDL says it will offer the same quality experience they give to all of their UK berth holders, “despite the relaxed nature of Catalonia.”
Dean Smith, Head of Sales and Marketing at MDL said: “To be certain we provide the very best service possible an experienced UK marina manger will work alongside a Spanish manager to ensure that berth holders can benefit from local knowledge, as well as a manager that understands the needs of an MDL berth holder.”
At the edge of an unspoilt traditional Spanish town, Sant Carles de la Rapita, which boasts a number of quality hotels, bars and restaurants, Sant Carles Marina promises sunny beaches, a fantastic climate and surroundings that include national parks and a safe water lagoon, renowned for its beautiful flamingos.
South west of Barcelona and easily accessed from a selection of airports, the marina will offer “exceptional” services for boat-owners, including boat valeting and winterising, plus leisure facilities including an infinity pool, restaurants, bar, and a health and fitness centre, says MDL
