Etap 26i

The Etap Company was formed in the late 1960's in Belgium. They launched their first boat the Etap 22. in 1970. The suffix 'i' indicates a development of the earlier model bearing the same number. The Etap 26i, in common with all members of the Etap family, has a double skinned hull with enough buoyancy for it to stay afloat even if holed below the waterline. She has a lifting keel and is the largest boat in the Etap range with this facility. Her sailing performance is said to be good.

The interior is stylish with steamed and sanded beech finishes with three coats of varnish. All furnishings have solid beech frames. The companionway has three curved aluminium treads covered in a non-slip finish. Headroom in the companionway area is 174cm. The saloon contains two long sofas with an open forepeak, which can be used as a double cabin. There is a rotatable height-adjustable table located in the centre of the saloon. A panoramic window allows plenty of light, giving a spacious feeling.

Extra storage space is provided under the starboard sofa and a potable water tank is located under the port side sofa. Closed cupboards line the entire length of the saloon on both port and starboards sides. The galley is equipped with a two burner gas hob. Under the deep stainless steel sink is a large stowage space with a cutlery drawer and bin bag holder. The work surfaces are finished in grey Formica. A 75 x 60cm chart table is located on the starboard side. The heads is furnished with a washbasin fitted with a shower head and fed by a pressurized cold water supply. There is a large wet locker with drainage and cupboard above.
