Gill has designed what it says is the most breathable, lightweight, flexible and waterproof ever successor to its best-selling Key West range of coastal and offshore clothing. It is called the OS2 range and will be officially launched at the London International Boat Show in January.
Gill OS2 is based on the new two-layer laminate 3 Dot fabric that is softer to touch, lighter in weight, more pliable and even more breathable, without compromising in any way on performance and durability, says the company. It is designed to suit both offshore and coastal sailors.
The OS2 Jacket combines sharp new styling with the classic Gill fit. It features laser-cut retro-reflective detail on the hood, shoulders, chest and cuffs; full-height, fleece-lined collar with an integral florescent yellow hood; hood draw-cord elastic lead via rubber fairleads for easy accessibility; spray visor; double storm guards with a reverse lip to protect the zip; adjustable double cuffs; adjustable hem; lifejacket attachment loops; easy access wallet pocket; zipped storage pockets and hand warmer pockets designed to minimise water ingress.
At Gill garments are also designed specifically for women, and the Gill OS2 Women's Jacket combines the same practical features as the Men's Jacket but styled and cut to suit the female form.
Women will also appreciate the convenience of the completely new drop-seat design of the Gill OS2 Women's Trousers. A new gusset system on either side not only makes the Trousers easier to use but also significantly improves their waterproof integrity, says Gill.
Salopette-style trousers are available in men and women's styles. Both have fleece-lined hand warmer pockets and, for extra wear, are reinforced at the seat and knee. Pre-shaped knees ensure a more comfortable fit with greater freedom of movement, and the trousers also include a multi-tool attachment point.
With silver, graphite and red colour options, Gill OS2 foul weather gear is competitively priced: the jackets cost £170 and the trousers £130.
