Gill brightens Beanie range

NEW GILL BEANIE HATS

Gill Stripey Knit Beanie One of the most important items of sailing kit, as the days get shorter, is the woolly hot. Not so long ago it only came in one colour: navy blue. The fashion conscious and frivolous might adopt something more colourful, perhaps from the ski slopes, but if you wanted technical headwear from one of the big brands, it was navy or nothing.

Now, fortunately, that has changed, so there is less danger of the crew all putting on each other's hats at the watch change! This year three bright new designs have been added to the Gill range - Chunky Knit Beanie (red or grey), Stripey Knit Beanie (blue or grey)and Women's Knit Beanie (ice blue or grey), all priced at £18.

Made from a 50% acrylic/50% wool knitted outer with a windproof and breathable laminated fleece inner, they also feature a headband lining that helps to keep the hat secure and the head warm and comfortable.

The laminated lining reduces heat loss, preventing wind chill while still allowing moisture to wick away. As well as keeping your head dry, the fleece section also provides a cosy barrier over the forehead and ears, say the makers
