We would like to congratulate our first ever join prize winner, Les Jones. Just for signing up as a member on the Main Sail, he has walked away with his very own copy of a CD-Rom companion to Tom Cunliffe's excellent book "The Complete Day Skipper". Here's is what Les had to say:

After starting up Skipper Exercises, my 10 year old boy ran over and really enjoyed the sound and animated fisherman type bloke that occasionally went into song! I was a little taken aback as it seemed very immature. How many 10 year olds do you get skippering a boat? Then after being instructed to grab the corner of the page to turn it over I was thinking it was a bit of a joke.
Particularly when you dropped the page early (released the left mouse button) the page actually fell back to where it had been. Ahhhh! You soon learn to avoid this by working from the index. However the content is good and it really did complement my other learning tools.
But be warned if I were to test this software for free prior to purchase I would not have gone past the first couple of animations. But it is worth hanging in there as it really does open up an excellent way to learn and understand practical skippering.
