Bottler trophy for J Class yachts

Bottler wine bottle holder What do you give to the yacht owner who has everything? How about a Bottler - “the ultimate onboard accessory for superyacht owners with good taste for wine.”

Bottler, created by a Dutch company, is designed to hold fine wine or or champagne in perfect balance, even during rough seas.

The design was inspired by Gerolamo Cardano, the Italian physician, philosopher and mathematician, who developed in 1537 his 'cardanic suspension' (gimbals), in order to hold the compass stable against the ship's movements.

It consists of three concentric rings, in which the compass always hangs level. The Bottler does the same for a single wine bottle - “bespoke, manufactured by hand with watch-making precision and can be custom designed to match any interior.”

Prices start from 5,000 euros for the original brass model. It is also available nickel plated, gold plated, or even encrusted with precious stones - and of course engraved with your yacht's name at extra cost.

Or, if you have a J Class yacht, you could just win one!

For Bottler will be supplying a trophy to the J Class Association for the fastest yacht on corrected time using J Class handicaps at the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup. This will be a perpetual trophy competed for annually.

The Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, organised by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, Porto Cervo, Sardinia, has become a regular meeting place for these magnificent yachts.

The next Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup is scheduled for September 1 - 6 and the J Class yachts Ranger and Velsheda are expected to attend. Increased numbers of J Class yachts are expected to compete for the trophy in the next few seasons as more restorations are completed.
