Now in its third year, Musto's Evolution Collections for men and women bring together technical fabrics and casual styling to create practical designs which combine good looks and performance.
New this year are the exceptionally light, low bulk but high insulation Evolution Primaloft Jacket (£120) and Gilet (£90), both available in men's and womens' styles and sizes, and the Evolution Lite Jacket (£150), which uses Goretex Paclite Shell fabric. The whole range is available in black or white.
The Primaloft jackets and gilets all feature a high-density, water-repellent polyester shell, filled with quilted Primaloft - a wind resistant and breathable wadding, said to provide exceptional warmth with minimal weight.
This is apparently achieved by specially treating ultra-fine fibres in a patented process and then combining them into an insulating core, which is soft, light and water-resistant and dries significantly quicker than traditional materials.
As the outer shell and the Primaloft both have water-repellent properties, these garments claim to keep you warm and dry in all but the worst conditions. They are finished with twin-stitch seam detail, roll-over chin guard, reflective outer collar stand, elasticated cuffs and “eye-catching” branding.
When things get wetter, Musto's new Evolution Lite Jacket is designed to provide durable wind- and water-proof qualities, despite its with minimum weight and pack volume. Weighing just 125gsm, the Goretex Paclite Shell claims to offer extreme breathability - and the jacket comes complete with two zipped front lower pockets and velcro-adjustable cuffs.
