Spinlock Mast Pro: safer than a bosun's chair

Spinlock Mast Pro harness Making its debut at METS this week is Spinlock's Mast Pro harness. Evolved from a climbing harness, the Mast Pro claims to be the only harness to be designed for mast ascent and working at height in the marine environment.

Key features are the ergonomically shaped waist-belt with neoprene sleeved adjustment buckles in marine grade stainless steel. The Mastpro features extra-wide leg straps for added comfort, and most importantly these are covered in ultra tough IBQ Cordura to prevent abrasion that can dangerously weaken an unprotected harness. The harness belt also includes profiled attachments for multi-tools and the Spinlock tripping spike.

Introducing the new harness, Spinlock director Chris Hill says the Mast Pro harness is a safer solution for ascending the mast. “Unlike the usual bosun's chair you can climb and manoeuvre much more safely. The construction and materials are carefully selected for its intended use. It is fully CE approved. And you can't fall out of it!”
