Nauteek SC100 and SC200 displays

Nauteek SC200 Described as state of the art technology crammed into a pocket size device, the wireless Nauteek SC100 and SC200 multifunction tactical displays claim to offer features usually found on much more expensive electronic navigation instruments.

With their ease of installation and use and high visibility display of speed and heading, the Nauteek SC100 and SC200 are claimed to be ideal for all sizes of boat, especially smaller boats where power may not be not available and hull fittings deemed unsuitable or too expensive.

The SC100 is aimed at beginners and cruisers whereas the SC200 provides the tools expected by serious racers. The SC100 displays speed (SOG), heading (COG) and offers countdown timer and chronograph.

In addition the SC200 displays Velocity Made Good (VMG), True Upwind Direction (TUD), TUD variation, Distance to Start Line (DTSL), Velocity To Destination (VTD), and a graphical speed histogram.

The SC100 and SC200 can both record 14 hours of position, speed, heading, and timestamps that can be downloaded to your PC in formats compatible with GPS Action Replay and Google Earth.

This feature enables sailors to analyse the effects of currents, headers and lifts on their sailing and their speed through tacks and gybes. The snapshot interval can be increased to increase recording capacity. The USB link can also be used to upgrade the Nauteek's firmware, giving access to future functionality enhancements.

“All this in a self contained waterproof device with no wires to connect to sensors or power - just put it where you want it on your boat, set the sails and enjoy,” says Nauteek.

Both with integrated GPS and rechargeable lithium ion battery, claiming 30 hours life per charge, the SC101 retails at £299 and the SC200 at £399.

Nauteek is a commercial brand of Imartec, a French electronic R&D company whose employees have a keen interest in sailing, nautical sports and electronics.

"The Nauteek SC200 and the recently released SC100 GPS tactical displays are meeting a strong demand in France, our home market, and the British market is an important milestone for our growth," said Nicolas Girard, Nauteek sales manager at Imartec, announcing that the company has appointed Ex Aqua as their official importer and distributor for the United Kingdom.

"The Nauteek tactical displays are well positioned and offer a rich set of features which until now was only available in much more expensive navigation systems,” said Claire Guignabaudet, principal of Ex Aqua.

“A particularly interesting feature is their upgradeability by the user, which protects the initial investment and enables the owner to benefit from future functionality enhancements. We strongly believe that these devices will attract strong demand in the British market."
