RNLI Sea Survival Experience

The Lifeboat College Sea Survival training pool The Lifeboat College - the home of RNLI training - is raising funds by promoting the RNLI Sea Survival Experience as well as the college's training and conference facilities, for team building and corporate events.

The RNLI Sea Survival Experience is the latest offering from the Lifeboat College, which boasts a stunning waterside setting with fabulous views across Poole Harbour.

The RNLI Sea Survival Experience gives participants a hands-on taster of the training that volunteer lifeboat crews undergo - providing a challenging team-building day or an unforgettable corporate event.

After a briefing by RNLI sea survival trainers, participants don the standard-issue RNLI crew kit to take part in poolside drills. Then it is into the sea survival training pool to learn the skills and techniques that RNLI crew members rely on every day to save lives at sea, including survival swim, liferaft training and helicopter recovery.

Julie Mottisfont from the Lifeboat College says: “As a top-class training and conference venue, the Lifeboat College provides everything you'd expect - and more. Our spectacular waterside location, our fantastic facilities and now the RNLI Sea Survival Experience, means we offer an unforgettable experience. Clients who use the Lifeboat College - whether for conferences, training, meetings or private dining - also know that every pound spent helps the RNLI to save lives at sea.”

Facilities at the Lifeboat College, which is a full member of the International Association of Conference Centres, include:

  • Comprehensive training, conference and meeting facilities
  • Main auditorium for larger events, as well as seminar rooms, meeting rooms and break-out areas
  • The 100-seater Riggers Restaurant serving high-quality, locally sourced food
  • 360º function room with panoramic views across the harbour for room hire and private dining
  • Private dining in a spectacular setting
  • 60 en-suite rooms, all with harbour views, for overnight stays
