Do you own any automatically operated Crewsaver lifejackets, manufactured before 1997?
The company's lifejacket servicing department has identified a problem with the United Moulders Mk3 Standard Automatic Head. This component was fitted to Crewsaver Crewfit and Survivor inflatable Lifejackets manufactured 12 years ago and older.
Manufacturers tests indicate that this component is now at the end of its safe and usable life and should be replaced.
So owners are advised to check their lifejackets, and compare them with this picture. If you find your lifejacket is is fitted with the Mk3 Standard Automatic Head, you are advised to contact Crewsaver.
“It is essential that the head replacement is undertaken by Crewsaver and on no account should you attempt to replace this yourself,” says the company.
“Providing your lifejacket has been serviced annually and correctly maintained as per the user manual guidelines, replacement of the firing head will keep your lifejacket in safe working order.
“We strongly recommend owners of Crewsaver Crewfit or Survivor lifejackets with a Mk3 Standard Automatic Head fitted to contact sales@crewsaver.co.uk
to discuss the replacement process.
“If your lifejacket is fitted with any of the other automatic heads it is not affected .”
