BFA marine, a brand of Zodiac International, has identified some overpressure valve failures on life rafts, due to mis-assembly, which could lead to deflation of the compartment concerned.
In the event that both overpressure valves of the two independent compartments happened to fail, the life raft would be useless.
The models concerned are Atlantic, Pacific, Baltic and XM/BFA Offshore.
As a preventive measure, BFA marine urges owners of these models to return them without delay to the nearest BFA approved service station, in order to check and if necessary replace those overpressure valves.
The recall applies to all BFA life rafts manufactured from 1997 until April 2007. (Serial numbers from 10 001 to 50 180 until 2002 and all serial numbers starting with the prefix XDC after 2002).
