Eberspacher, known globally for its range of boat central heating systems, will be launching what it claims is the smallest but most powerful and quickest starting diesel heater in its class at the Southampton Boat Show (September 14th to 23rd)
For boats up to 60ft in length, the Hydronic M has a variable heat output of between 1.2kw and 12kw. The operator can select a temperature level and leave the heater to maintain it using the minimum diesel required. A bio-diesel compatible version is available.
The company explains that it has been active over the years in the miniaturisation of diesel fuelled heating systems, mainly for cars and trucks. These innovations have benefited the boating industry, which has never had the volume requirement to justify the research and development costs.
