Simrad has revealed its latest offerings, including new screen technology for its NavStation series, a high performance autopilot range for IPS and a range of new processors for B&G performance sailing systems.
The newly developed SunView Bonded (SVB) screens for NavStation increase viewability making NavStation an even more appealing choice for motor and sailboats of all shapes and size. Improved manufacturing techniques and advances in TFT technology have enabled Simrad to provide a screen that they claim to be technically superior, providing better viewing in all conditions and is more cost effective for the end user. Though SVB technology provides an improved picture in all circumstances, it will be sold at the existing price of the TFT version of NavStation - less than the original SunView option.
Simrad will also show its new autopilot range for Volvo IPS powered boats at SIBS. Since hitting the market in May, the system has been installed on several production IPS powerboats around the world, with positive feedback already received on accuracy, safety and performance enhancing characteristics. Anybody looking for an IPS powerboat at SIBS would be wise to check out Simrad's AP16, AP25/26/27 series autopilots to make sure they get the most out of this revolutionary new propulsion system.
Simrad will also unveil new processors for B&G performance systems providing increased functionality for mast rotation and mast twist functions and adds the ability to use Speed Over Ground (SOG) as a boatspeed input. Primarily developed for demanding applications such as the Volvo Ocean Race, Americas Cup and TP52 class boats as part of the B&G Custom Projects program, however the new h2000 main processors are suitable for a broader range of boats with performance in mind. Additions include NMEA support for Depth, Heading or GPS and dual depth sensor functionality. It also enables dual boatspeed inputs for automatic switching of port and starboard sensors for flatter hull-forms and multihulls.
