Standard Horizon launches CP300

Standard Horizon CP300 chart plotter Following the success of Standard Horizon's budget chart plotter, the CP180 launched last September, the company has introduced a new chart plotter to supersede the medium-sized, CP175.

The new CP300 features a sunlight-viewable 7” colour widescreen display, with a host of navigation features, plus video input for a DVD player or remote camera.

In line with the CP180, there are two options available: the CP300 comes with an external antenna, or the CP300i with an internal antenna. They both guarantee the same high performance.

The high-resolution 800 x 400 pixel screen displays detail clearly and there are six customisable quick keys for swift navigation around the different user-defined screen options.

As with all Standard plotters, there's a built-in EGNOS/WAAS-compatible 16-channel GPS receiver, delivering accuracy to within three metres, and AIS-compatibility.

There's capacity for up to 3,000 waypoints and 50 routes with dedicated 'mark', 'route' and 'go to' keys, NMEA-0183 compatibility and DSC VHF radio compatibity.

DVDs may be viewed on-screen, or a camera connected for security or mooring/manoeuvring assistance. The information may then be displayed either on the whole screen, or just a section of it, enabling the user to view navigation information at the same time.

A swivel mounting bracket is including, allowing the display to be rotated 360 degrees, plus all the necessary hardware for optional flush-mounting. It is also compatible with Standard Horizon's fish finder, the FF520.

Working with either C-Map MAX or NT+ cartridges, a vast amount of information is available to the user. MAX offers additional add-on features such as live navigation aids that flash as the cursor comes within range of lights, buoys and channel markers.

There are also tidal predictions showing the strength and direction of tide as it is now, or for any future date/time, multi-coloured land elevation and depth contours, aerial images of port entrances, dynamic representations of surrounding waters, with colourful detail at quick refresh speeds, and a wealth of up-to-date pilotage and harbour information collected from marina operators.

The Standard Horizon CP300i retails at £619 and the CP300 at £659. Both prices are inclusive of VAT, and there is a three-year waterproof warranty.
