The weekend's storms have washed up wreckage from a yacht on the Hampshire coastline at Hayling Island. The wreckage is believed to be part of the missing yacht Ouzo, which disappeared in the English Channel in August.
Police teams and coastguards searched the area near Sandy Point, and said initial checks indicated the wreckage could be part of the Ouzo, according to a report on the Hayling Island community website www.hayling.co.uk
The bodies of three men who had been on board the boat were found two days after it left Bembridge, bound for Dartmouth, on August 20th. The sailors' bodies were found south east of the Isle of Wight.
Coastguards said they received no Mayday distress call from the 27ft (8.2m) Sailfish sloop
and the only part of the yacht that was recovered was a fender.
In September, a 61-year-old P&O employee was arrested in connection with the deaths and released on police bail until February.
