Avon Inflatables, the UK's leading RIB and inflatables manufacturer, will launch a new range of Ocean and Coastline life rafts at the 2007 London International Boat Show.
Avon claims its liferafts have had more successful rescues than any other brand, including the longest life raft survival in history - an impressive 117 days. The new range of liferafts are compliant with ISO regulations and boast a 12-year guarantee.
The Ocean range of offshore liferafts have been designed for four, six and eight persons in accordance to ISO 9650 Type 1 Group A standards, with 2006/07 ISAF offshore special regulations for monohull and multihull racing (Category 1 and 2).
All the liferafts can be inflated in temperatures as low as -15 degrees and up to 65 degrees and compressed air inflation ensures optimal inflation time irrespective of the outside temperature.
Ocean liferafts feature an inflatable floor for insulation and comfort, as well as a square inflatable ramp with access ladder to make boarding easier. With an integrated self bailer system, 240 litre ballast system and multi-sided assembled structure shape, the range has been designed to remain stable in rough sea conditions.
The Coastline liferaft can hold six people and has been designed to ISO 9650 Type 2 standards. Lightweight, highly visible and durable, it has a multi-sided assembled structure shape similar to the Ocean range, as well as great interior space and buoyancy volume, equivalent to an offshore raft. The canopy includes a light and large retro-reflective tapes to aid rescue teams.
Both life rafts come complete with extensive safety equipment that includes a bailer, sponge, floating paddle, signalling mirror, whistle, repair kit, hand flares and torch. The Ocean range also has an optional grab bag with first aid kit, thermal protective aids, water packs and food rations.
Each Avon liferaft has a 12-year guarantee and meets top international standards, including ORC, IOR, USYRU, CCA and AAA. The liferafts have an extended three-year service interval and inspections are carried out at over 300 approved service stations around the world.
