Ritchie navigation has announced a new range of compasses to be launched at the beginning of 2007. The new Venture range will feature attractive styling and a design that is said to be durable and easy to install. Other notable qualities will include a wider variety of mounting angles. The compasses won't require a mounting block as they can fit into existing boat hardware.
Pivoting up to 30 degrees from the bulk head and allowing for 45 degrees of pitch and roll, the SR-2, one of the compasses in the new Venture range, is targeted towards sailors. It comes with a free INC clinometer. Ritchie claims it will supply independent heading information and has the advantage that the compass can be placed anywhere on the boat.
The SR-2 will also come with a weather and back cover for added protection, and its distinctive blue dial is said to be easier to read in dim light.
