Keep your mobile dry with Skins

Skins waterproof mobile phone cover We recently looked at a range of waterproof covers for electrical equipment on TheMainSail, but if you don't want to break the bank and only need to protect you phone then Skins may be the answer for you.

Once you have overcome the fact that the Skins product is undoubtedly aesthetically similar to a condom, you may find this little gizmo quite useful. After taking it out of the packet simply place the Skins under your phone and roll it upward. Knot the excess and roll the remainder of it back down over you phone and that is it! Not only will your mobile be protected from water, but it also protects it from dirt, mud, paint, snow - the list is endless.

Though slightly muffled, I was still able to make calls successfully while my phone was contained. Of course any phone camera become inoperative, but this was hardly a problem.

The item was easy to fit in a matter of seconds and I was successfully able to reuse it two or three times before it snapped. Not completely waterproof, Skins are not suitable for diving. However when I did completely submerge my phone, no water was able to get it and the phone stayed dry.

Available in packs of three and six with SRPs of £2.99 and £5.99 respectively, I would personally buy two packs of three as it works out a penny cheaper.

For more information, visit www.skins-mobile.co.uk. If you do visit the site is it well worth checking out the computer wallpapers using there fairly striking advertising campaign, which whet your appetite without wetting your phone!

"Once you have overcome the fact that the Skins product is undoubtedly aesthetically similar to a condom..."

Wonder if a non lubricated condom would be as good or indeed more reliable :)
