have a heart ems 1800 inverter/charger and am wondering why the meter in the marina is not changing(not complaining) as i try to charge the batteries.  there was something about the automatic changeover switch that i needed to look up.

if anyone has a manual, or knows where i could get one, i would be so pleased. mant thanks, steve

I have a Heart Freedom 20 on my boat...yeah i know its not the same but probably has many similarities. I have the manual for it plus the remote controller (Link 2000) and have recently engaged with the manufacturers in the US who have been helpful. You may be able to download or have them send you one?

I'll be scaning the EMS 1800 manual on Wednesday at work so anyone wanting a copy send me an E-mail. Heart is now Xantrex, they have some discontinued manuals but not the 1800. If anyone has the 1800 remote I could sure use a picture or model number.

Like Jerry Wilhite says... Heart can be found by looking for Xantrex and going from there

As of Oct 2,2008    I too would very much appreciate the Heart 1800-12 manual.  Can anyone help

Wicksie, I have the manual scanned on my work computer and will be happy to E-mail it to you. Send your E-mail address to /forum/smilies/confused_smiley.gif[/img]omf77@--yahoo.com]somf77@--yahoo.com (remove --) One thing that is both convient and problematic is the automatic transfer switch. It is so seemless that you won't know if you are on shore power or the inverter until the batterys go dead. For several months now I have been running my generator thinking it was running the boat but due to the polarity or the generator being reversed 110v was coming from the inverter. I didn't figure this out until everything went dead one night. Unless you can see the inverter LEDs or are lucky enough to have the remote you will not know if you are on shore or the inverter.

thank you all for your help and advice!  I am lucky that I have the remote in the galley and the site at xantrex did have downloadable pdf files on the 1800, although it was hard to find.  The tranfer switch is fine and so is the inverter........it is 14 yrs old so, touch wood(steve taps head) it'll last a few more years yet.....have fitted a 60 watt solar panel and it is perfect for keeping the batteries at 100% whilst in the marina. Hope this finds you all well and managing to get some sailing. steve
