Can anyone recommend a lighter-weight deck shoe for use cruising in the Med in summer.
Traditional leather deckshoes get hot and uncomfortable after a couple of hours and once wet, stay wet for the rest of the day.
I have been looking at the new Musto Lightweight Race Shoes but at £65 it would be a costly mistake if wrong.
The ideal shoe must be comfortable on a hot day and dry out reasonably quickly after a ducking, but stay on your feet whan racing around and protect your feet as you do so.

Any thoughts??

I have a pair of Keen sandals that I wear for racing and cruising alike - they are much safer than normal sandals as they have an enclosed toe so no nasty injuries with cleats etc.

They have good gripping soles and dry very quickly - I think they are designed as walking sandals but are great for sailing in - shop around though as they are a little pricy - but well worth the money in my book.

I have Keen's too and they are excellent.

They were designed by sailor Martin Keen after one too many stubbed toes whilst wearing ordinary sandals.
