tether connection

I have been told there is a device that connects your tether to the rail/rope that circles the boat and its special feature is that it does not need to be unclipped when you pass by a connection between the rail and the boat. This device is used for the walking tour over the Sydney Harbour bridge.

I have failed to find this device on Google. I would appreciate it if someone could tell me the name of this device.

Thanks,
Pete Leaback.

I remember this device being heavily promoted in the yachting press a few years ago, but I think it was quite expensive, and they may be why it seems to have disappeared from the chandlery shelves...
Sorry, I can't remember what it was called.

I think the product you mean is the "Latchway" system, which used to be marketed many years ago by Henri Lloyd. This has not been around in the marine market for at least 15 years, but i believe is still used for Health & Safety situations on building works

If items are used for building safety just look up safety harness on google-there are various sites which sell a whole range of commercial safety equipment-carabiners ,harnesses, ropes, arrest descenders etc-if item is in use you will find it there.
