I have just bought this plotter at Southampton. So far it is only set up in my study at home, it will be fixed to the boat next week. It seems a very impressive piece of kit but I have been a little disapointed with the quality & detail in the manual. Can anyone explain the tide page to me? It has Height & Draught. What is the difference? The manual explains height as "Current tide height referrred to vertical cursor" & draught as "Tide height referred to horizontal cursor". I do not understand that. Also what does the "L" stand for after the times of High & low tides & sunset.

Hi Ray,

The L refers to local time.
The difference between Height and Draft, is that Height is the height of the tide above chart datum and draft is the depth of water that your boat needs to float. The CP-180 can calculate how much water is underneath you based on the time, date and chart information. This is useful for a grounding alarm, but needs to know how much draft your boat draws. The difference between the Height and Draft is the free water underneath the hull! Hope this helps
