Roxy,

No great surprise that 35L wasn’t big enough, you are after all a women, not all but most women I’ve sailed with insist on bringing far too many clothes with them. Stick with the 35L sack as a control measure; if you can’t fit it in do you need it?

I don’t think it is necessarily the case of bringing too much stuff – more that women are less happy to sit festering in the same clothes for more than a 48 hour period. I am going sailing for a week at the end of next week and intend to take the 33.5 litre carryall and a small rucksack. Guess that would mean I would be kicked off your crew?

In the review I am including fitting my oilskins in as well.

I've been using a Musto XXL bag for a season now - the sailcloth version - but I'm disappointed that it has started to tear where the handles are stitched on. That said I can get everything in it including my oilies lifejacket and wellies and it's well sorted with compartments inside.

I had a Rolex Oyster bag in sail cloth previously in XXL and could get everything for a month in there if I so wished with space to spare, but it slowly ripped down the side of the zip and was renderd useless

Price is't always a good indcation of quality either. I bought an expensive bag because I thought it would last. It didn't. Similarly I have a mate who bought HPX boots. The sole came apart after about 4 months. Not worth the money. As soon as anything gets near a boat it seems to get expensive. Maybe start buying my stuff at the Co-Op.

Not a bad idea. Have a plain bag it is £x.xx, but as soon as you put put Musto on it it becomes £xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

It's a rip-off world, especially in the world of YACHTING, not boating!

35L was perfectley adiquit for the 12 days down to Portugal.... Mainly due to the fact that only really had the opertunity t change once every three days!
