I'm in the market for a second hand P&O or SeaFrance ferry. An unusual request i know but if anyone has any info on where i could procure one that would be great.

Thanks.

Phil

Why a ferry of all things?
Show/hide user stats
I would hate to think what you are going to have to spend on mooring charges if you do get your hands on one!
Show/hide user stats
not to mention how much it will cost in fule!

This is obviously a wind - up. Why would anyone introduce the Merchant Marine into a yachting forum, unless the ferry requested was an Itchen Ferry?
Show/hide user stats
Obviously fuel would be an issue. Maybe i need to down-size. The purchase of a ferry does seem a trifle ambitious. However, i do kinda like the idea of living on a boat. Those itchen ferries looked pretty cool when i 'googled' it.

Hi Phil, from a cross channel ferry to an Itchen Ferry is some downsize! I think it would be worth it though...in fuel economy alone.

I also don't think there is much market for a cross channel ferry so you probably wouldn't get one!

He wants an offshore tax haven!

Prehaps, though if that is the case I suspect a sea going barge would be better. For those times you did need to have access to your swis bank account, at least you could call into a marina for a mo! Also quite a bit cheaper.

Hi Phil, there is a magazine called the International Ferry Scene. You might find second hand ferrys for sale there!

Try this site http://www.maritimesales.com/Ferries%20for%20Sale.htm Or try red funnel ferry's as thay have just bashed one up and might sell it cheap

Why sre the small red funnel ferries called red funnel. They don't have any funnel! It doesn't make sence
Show/hide user stats
Red Funnel was the name of a big shipping company, and, naturally enough all their ships had red funnels.

they need to move with the times me thinks
