Spinnaker Tower celebrates birthday success
It seemed a massive white elephant, overdue and overbudget, but Portsmouth's Millennium landmark is on course to pay its way

Love it or loathe it? Is it a striking landmark or a blot on the landscape? Have you been up to enjoy the view? Let us know what you think.

Not been up it, but it certainly makes a good waypoint for the hand bearing compass!

I went up it last November. It was a bit dull and cloudy that day, but the view was great. You could see some of the historic ships and over to Southsea common.

It looks good from the Sea and is obviously a neat thing for Pompy to have, but GLASS FLOOR, my legs went to jelly with vertio just reading it! Don't think I could ever coax my body up that high whatever the view!

I loved the glass floor...you have to take your shoes off to go on it though!

The glass floor isn't compulsory (fortunately) but the view is mindboggling (very good for spies checking out the naval base!) What astonished me was how much the tower moved - even on a day with very little wind. Not so bad on the main view deck, but quite noticable up two floors in the "crow's nest". Don't think I'd like it much on a windy day!
