This peaceful photograph shows a recent early
morning at Dandy Hole on the River Lynher.
The boats are both Trapper 300's and part of a small fleet that race
regularly in Plymouth Sound as part of the class races run by the West
Hoe Sailing Club. They are excellent quarter tonners which are still
quite popular and we have 11 in the local district.

Trapper 300s now they are really nice boats Bruce Kirby really got that one right!

Sailed down that way a couple of years ago and also visted friends on the Yealm, now that's a wonderful spot too!

yes the yealm is where many an RYA candidate has found him/herself doing some nav' work.

A very pretty place too and highly recomended.

It can be a long way back to the mooring via that walk through the woods though. My crew 2 years back, who had a couple of lemonades, took the wrong route and ended up sleeping in the woods overnight.
