My brother and I used to play on the remains of the Cap Pillar in Wivenhoe when we were little (about 50 years ago) before she was broken up and, I believe, buried at Rowhedge. My brother's boat is now called Cap Pillar.

I believe that war had broken out by the time she came home so her achievement was largely un recognised at the time.
