I am currently in the process of putting together a website that will enable boat users to post information as a reference guide for other users in the form of a worldwide travel guide and an anchorage guide. It will be free for members of the worldwide boating community to join, with a facility that will allow contributors to establish a link to their own websites and blogs.

At the moment I am trying to compile a pool of pictures depicting seascapes, sunrises and sunsets (over water), ports, anchorages, cruising life etc etc for inclusion on the site to make it more aesthetically pleasing.

I have kindly been given permission by Cathy to post a request for such pictures to be forwarded to me and hope to have a great response.  Any pictures submitted will, of course, be given full credit.

To avoid any copyright infringement please ensure that the owner gives permission for any pictures to be published on the website.

Pictures can be sent as an attachment to myself at t.j.millward@hotmail.co.uk. All correspondence will be treated in the strictest confidence with my personal guarantee that no email addresses will be passed on to anyone else.

Sounds like a good idea for a site - do you want contributers to send pictures and text about their area of sailing - if so how.  What is the URL for your site?

Hi Paul.

Eeek I have tried to submit several messages but apparently they are too long. I will post info on the site URL as it goes live. The site will include formats for "reports" contributors wish to submit on countries, towns and cities, harbours and ports, anchorages and inland waterway routes.

Format sounds severe but it is just an easy way for contributors to submit free flow narratives in easily handlable chunks. Reports will be able to include pics and links to contributors websites too.

With regard to pics, if you could send them to me at t.j.millward@hotmail.co.uk with relevant info on who to credit, we will post most suitable ones in prominent positions around the site. If you, or anyone else would like more detailed info on the site please feel free to email me at the above address.
