A quick post to let you know the Beneteau Owners Association now has a new Scotland Area Rep. I have taken on the role to try to promote the association in Scotland, to enable us to become more active for owners in this region. We are planning a fitting out supper soon after Easter, and other plans are in the pipeline - these will be posted on the association website at http://www.beneteau-owners-association.org.uk/ as they become available.
For more information about the association, plans, events, benefits and why, as a Beneteau owner (sail or power) you might like to join, see the website above, or drop me an email at boa*at*linksted.co.uk (replace *at* with @).
I am considering buying a Beneteau 411 Four cabin charter version. Is it possible to remove the partitions that surround the bunk room to make a really bis forward cabin. having examined them they appear to be non structural with the possible exception of the narrow athwartships panel at the forward end of the bunk room,Help would be appreciated
I am afraid I can't help with your query - the association is formed by Beneteau owners rather than anyone at the company. There may be members with more technical knowledge of the particular boat you're asking about - you could try posting on the owners association forum at http://www.beneteau-owners-association.org.uk/toast/toast.asp
Beneteau advise contacting a dealer with technical queries rather than them directly, so you could try contacting your local dealer and having a chat with them - there is a dealer finder on their website at http://www.beneteau.com/en/sailboats/dealerships/carte.aspx
I've got a 411 2 cabin version, in the forward cabin the headlining moulding has channels moulded in it. I assume these would take the panels for other configerations, you may be OK but I would get a surveyor to have a look from a safety and insurance point of view.
