having lifted my yacht out of the water i noticed some barnacle roots on the gelcoat,any ideas of how to remove without damaging the gelcoat. HH

Get some 2000 grade wet & dry, use very wet and it is better if you get a bar of soap and rub the paper on it first.
Then get some G3 cutting polish to bring back the full gloss.
Alternatively, try some strong formaldahyde based fungicide (wear gloves) apply liberally, go for 2 pints and hose off, it should work!
