
Hi Brian, no experience myself I am afraid. I know Bill and Laurel Cooper who wrote 'Sell Up and Sail' (a mine of information on all aspects of long distance cruising) have been great advocates of diesel cookers. They had the equivalent of a diesel Aga on their boat, and it offered far more scope for gourmet cuisine than the standard two-rings-and-an-oven gas job. However, the disadvantage of diesel cookers is that they are relatively heavy, so it is partly a question of how big your boat is and how much room you have to spare in the galley.
