We all of course wear branded oilskins as it really is the only type of waterproofs that will hold out in extreme nautical conditions, but what about your casual clothes? Do you sport matching Musto t-shirt and shorts on the jetty, or do you just have general pieces unsailing related that you wear all the time?

I do find when I purchase a Musto top, that I will almost always take it with me while sailing, but now some of the designs are getting a bit more ‘trendy,’ some items are slowly coming out of the sailing closet and into the main wardrobe!

My Missus gets me Tesco's Value jeans at about £3.00 a pair (as cheap as a pint of guiness) ideal for on the boat. I dont need to worry if they get covered in cr*p and if it gets hot and I want shorts, I just cut the legs off. Can't be doing with this poncy stuff!

Get supplied a nice uniform for work (the boat)or else just jeans and t-shirt for my RIB.

My £3 Tesco jeans get worn at most other times and now about 9 months old and have lasted longer than far more expensive ones before showing any wear. Just wonder how much the people who make them get paid if they can sell them that cheap.

Probably about the same as those who make Levi's. Just less middle men getting rich on peoples vanity I suspect Wolfie.

I don't tend to spend out too much, just the odd thing with good wicking really. It depends if I am working on a boat or racing, as the last thing you want is to have to get up in the middle of the night and be in uncomfortable clothes.

Simple answer there is to wear nothing at night - no discomfort problems or awkward fastenings to deal with....

Some of those awkward fastenings can be fun!!

Yeah but no fastenings is quicker and less likely to make you/me look silly or inexperienced!!!!!

but then there is the problem of being cold and also more likely to catcht things which I would image would be quite painful!
