Just a quick one-after a lot of searching I have found a US GPS supplier who will export using United States Postal Service for about $50 including Insurance. There are loads out there but you get landed with Fedex/UPS who are exorbitant and remove competitive edge. You will not necessarily save alot as there are some good bundled deals over here Eg the Lowrance complete with their own Europe map for under £300.However you can for example get the Eagle 502 Intellimap(the Lowrance without Nmea)for about $400 including postage which works out at about £240 including duty and VAT.which if you plan to use Navionics gold and dont want the bundled mapping from Lowrance is a good deal.

You do have to enquire about overseas shipping but they are quick to respond.

One word of caution ... Buying from USA is good because the dollar is so bad against Euro / Pound - so price is attractive. But the importers in Europe / UK are not getting their commission on imports. So with many products they don't cover the warranty if anything goes wrong.

I know when I bought a Computer in London from a "grey-Importer" ... basically it was an outlet for USA based products - when it failed the computer co. in UK refused to touch it and I had to deal with the london shop. A nightmare.

The Computer co. knew the machine was not bought from authorised import by its' serial number.

So check that your warranty will be honoured in UK etc. ... it may not be as cheap after all.
